Welcome to « L’Atelier Cafe » (« Coffee Workshop » in English).
This French restaurant was opened in 2012 by a French couple who had decided to go back to France.
We (Angélique and Christophe) came to Palm Springs for vacation in February 2018 and fell in love with this beautiful city of Palm Springs.
We met the previous owners when we came for brunch and at that time, they told us that L’Atelier was for sale.
Upon our return to France we made a family decision and 3 months later we sold our restaurant in Biarritz (South West of France on the Atlantic coast) and started to organize for our new life in California.
We took over the restaurant in mid-November. Our two daughters (Ambre and Tess) started their new schools in Palm Springs and have been learning English at a very quick pace.
Christophe is the Head Chef of a 100% French kitchen team.
Many years ago, he decided to become a Cook thanks to his Mother and Grandma who were really good at traditional French cuisine.
Christophe is an experience Cook and Chef. He worked in France, New York, Orlando (Chef de France at Epcot Center), Miami (« Le Bouchon du Groove ») with 3 different diplomas in French Cuisine.
One souvenir of his Grandma Suzanne is the typical red and white French design (table clothes, napkins and curtains), that we now use for our place mats,table clothes and menus.
We brought all this back to L’Atelier Cafe as a reminder of her!

Our goal is to deliver to our customers a taste of our traditional homemade, simple, tasty French cuisine at an affordable price… « comme chez Mémé » (« like in Grandma home »).
